Have Yourself a Merry Little Postmark

It’s the time of year when a town about ten miles west of Titusville on Highway 50 gets a lot of attention. Why would that be, you ask. Because this city has the seasonally appropriate name of Christmas, Florida.

Especially interesting to many people is the U.S. Post Office, where folks come from miles around the get the “Christmas, Florida” postmark. Imagine getting a holiday card where the sender has taken the effort to greet you from Christmas, on Christmas, Merry Christmas.

And if that wasn’t enough, the post office has also provided green and red ink pads and plenty of rubber stamps brandishing bells and messages like “Sending Season Greetings from Christmas, Florida.” After all, the addressee may not see the postmark, but they won’t miss the stamped message.

Will they be open Christmas Eve? Good question. Better write Santa and ask him.
